How we list businesses
The directory is meant to be useful first. Here is how places get in, what the labels mean and how to get a listing changed or removed.
Who we list
We list gardens to visit, parks, nurseries, garden services, charities and community groups that are relevant to people gardening in the North East or looking for an outdoor day out here. Before a place is added, we check it against a live public page: its own website where possible, otherwise an official source such as the RHS nursery finder, the Charity Commission register, a council page or a trade body's member list. Each listing links to the page we checked and says what kind of page it is.
We describe each place in a few plain words: what it is and where. We do not publish star ratings, reviews or claims we cannot check.
Free and featured listings
Most listings are free and stay up whether or not the business links to us, advertises or knows it is listed.
Some listings may be sponsored.
Changes and removals
If something in a listing is wrong or out of date, or you would like your organisation removed, send us a message with the details so the listing can be corrected or taken down. To suggest a new listing, use the same form.
